Brad Nicholson's terrible writing is dragging the once great GiantBomb into the gutter

gamejournos:

GiantBomb, there’s still time to undo the damage you’ve done. All you need to do is tell Brad that you’ve made a terrible mistake, you thought he was Jack Nicholson, and if he’d hand over the keys to the website and forget this ever happened that’d just be ducky.

I like GiantBomb. No, sorry, let me correct that - I liked GiantBomb. You’ve written some genuinely fantastic stuff. But Brad Nicholson seems intent on turning your site into another Destructoid.

I’m not saying “Fire him” in a typical fanboy fashion. I know that when someone on the internet yells “THIS MAN SHOULD BE FIRED!!11!1” it’s because of some misplaced sense of nerd rage about something utterly inconsequential. But come on, GiantBomb. Your site is one of the few good ones. You guys had never appeared on this blog in a negative light until he joined your staff roll. Now I’ve called attention to two terrible Nicholson-penned GB articles in the last week - three if we’re including this one.

Please. If you love him… let him go.

As someone who loves both Giant Bomb and Brad Nicholson (although more due to his personality than his writing skills), I find myself kind of conflicted. I’m really happy that Brads moved up from Destructoid (which is a site I love, but lets face it- it’s standards for writing are pretty low), but at the same time, I don’t know; Giant Bomb doesn’t really seem right for Brad.

I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with his writing… it’s just that it doesn’t really fit, not when you’ve got some of that fantastic Gerstmann stuff on the same site. I dunno. You probably dislike his writing for a completely different reason.
